If someone doesn't seem interested in connecting with us, it's natural to feel rejected, but reacting defensively often makes things worse. Try turning inward first - am I projecting assumptions unfairly or listening generously? Self-reflection builds understanding.

Lead with Empathy

Rather than make accusations, we could start from a place of empathy. Everyone has insecurities and struggles. If we seek to understand others' perspectives, that creates an atmosphere for open-minded discussion.

Finding Common Ground

Surface differences may obscure shared hopes and values. Focusing on common interests and goals often uncovers reasons to connect meaningfully.
