Getting Started with CorePower Yoga
With over 200 studios across the United States, CorePower Yoga is one of the largest and most accessible yoga chains. Their heated and vigorous vinyasa flow classes have built a strong community of yogis.
What to Expect from CorePower Yoga Classes
CorePower is best known for its hot yoga-inspired workout style that makes you sweat while holding poses. Instructors cue dynamic flows through series of postures targeting strength, flexibility and balance. Classes offer modifications, but move at a flowing pace.
In addition to vigorous C2-style classes, they offer gentle C1 classes, sculpt sessions focused on resistance training, and yoga-inspired pilates matwork. Class lengths range from 30 minutes to over an hour.
CorePower Yoga Class Cancellation and Membership Policies
Before your first class, familiarize yourself with CorePower's customer policies. This allows you to make the most out your experience as a member.
Cancelling Specific CorePower Yoga Classes
If needed, you can cancel your spot in an individual class without penalty based on these class cancellation guidelines:
Digital Members
The general digital cancellation policy for class bookings is:
- Cancel up to 1 hour before class starts for a full account credit
- Inside 1 hour, cancellation incurs a $10 class charge
- Not showing up without cancellation incurs $25 charge
The timing to avoid charges may vary by studio location and membership level.
In-Studio Members
For members who book classes in-studio:
- Cancel by phone over an hour beforehand for no penalty
- Cancelling under 1 hour may incur $10 drop-in rate
- No shows can be charged $15 class fee
Confirm cancellation timing when you book at desk to avoid surprise fees.
Elite Membership Holders
Elite members who pre-book classes or appointments have until 15 minutes prior to cancel at no charge due to their higher commitment level and monthly rates.
Pausing or Cancelling Your CorePower Yoga Membership
Need an extended break from classes? You have options to pause your membership for a time or cancel it completely.
Membership Freezetime Allotments
Most digital and in-studio members qualify for a set number of freezetime days per contract period:
- One month plans - up to 10 days freeze time
- 6+ month plans - up to 30 days freeze time
- 12+ month plans - up to 60 days freeze time
You can split up allotted days however needed - for example, freeze for 1 week now and 3 later on. Freezetime does not extend overall contract length.
Placing Your Membership on Hold
To temporarily freeze your membership:
- Log in to your CorePower account online
- Under "My Memberships", select option to place on hold
- Choose start and end dates for hold period
- Agree to auto-reactivation once freezetime ends
If you belong to a CorePower studio without online booking, visit or call your home studio to assist with freezetime.
Reactivating Your Membership
Your membership will automatically reactivate once allotted freezetime ends. You can reactivate early whenever ready to resume classes.
Be sure your payment method is up to date so monthly billing resumes smoothly when you return.
Cancelling a CorePower Yoga Membership
To fully cancel and not just pause your membership:
- Email membership@corepoweryoga.com from account email
- Specify you wish to cancel membership
- Include full name and primary studio location
- Review terms - 30 days notice may be required
You can also speak to your studio manager directly about cancelling if that is more comfortable.
Additional CorePower Class Booking Policies
Here are some other useful policies to know about reserving space in CorePower Yoga classes:
Waitlisting When Classes Fill Up
Rather than a class showing as fully "Sold Out", CorePower uses waitlisting when a class hits room occupancy:
- Sign up on waitlist if class looks full
- Pay only if a space opens for you
- The app notifies you if cleared from waitlist
- Check back even if not contacted - spots may open last minute
Cancelling When Waitlisted
To cancel a waitlist spot, delete your signup before class begins to avoid charges if space opens for you.
Late Arrivals
The system automatically cancels class bookings when you are:
- 10-15 minutes late to a 60 minute class
- 5-7 minutes late to a 30 minute class
Your card on file gets charged as a late cancel. Arrive early as needed to check in and setup your mat space.
The front desk can check you in if you arrive just slightly past the cutoff time.
Getting Ready for Your First CorePower Yoga Class
Prepping properly will allow you to have the best experience taking your first class at CorePower.
What to Bring
Come equipped with:
- Yoga Mat - Rental mats available
- Towel - Essential for hot classes
- Water - Hydration is key
- Yoga gear - Comfy stretchy clothes, clean socks
A combination or padlock for the locker room is handy as well. Avoid bringing valuables.
Arriving Early
Plan to arrive 20-30 minutes early your first class to:
- Check in and setup billing
- Meet instructor and introduce as new
- Claim your space - avoid front and center
- Adjust temperature if needed
- Use restroom beforehand
This early arrival ritual helps first-timers feel comfortable and ready to participate.
Modifying Intensity
Since classes move vigorously, speak up if ever feeling:
- Lightheaded, dizzy or nauseous
- Muscle cramping
- Stabbing pain or strain
- Generally overwhelmed
Instructors provide alternative pose options so you can ease intensity without stopping.
Rest in child's pose anytime needing a full break. Listen to your body and don't overdo it while adjusting to the heat and flow.
